       Twelve miles northeast of Indianapolis, you will find the beautiful Geist Reservoir.  Geist Reservoir is located in Marion, Hamilton and Hancock counties and has a water area of 1,900 acres. "The Geist Area" consists of the cities and townships around the reservoir that include Lawrence Township of Indianapolis in the northeast and Fall Creek Township of Hamilton County in the eastern part of Fishers.  The popular "Geist Area" is not an official government unit or town, but has approximately the same population as Carmel. 

       Residents of Geist Reservoir area who live north of 96th Street are served by the Hamilton Southeastern Schools. While the students south of 96th Street go to Lawrence Township Schools. 

       Living in the Geist area and on the reservoir gives you plenty of opportunities to incorporate fun into your daily living.  Downtown Indianapolis is a short 30-minute drive and offers professional sports teams like the Colts and the Pacers on top of Circle Centre Mall, The Children´s Museum and the Indianapolis Zoo. 

       If staying close to home is more your style, there are many activities to be found on and around the lake.  Residents are close to several golfing communities as well as the live music amphitheatre Verizon Wireless Music Center in Noblesville.  On the weekend, the lake comes alive with boaters, water skiers, wake boarders, and swimmers.  Fishing is also very popular on Geist reservoir for it is home to catfish, crappie, and bass.
