Greenwood is located just 12 miles south of Indianapolis off of Interstate 65 and 15 miles from the Indianapolis International Airport. In 1872, the town was founded by Samuel Greenwood. The population today continues to steadily increase and was last recorded in 2005 at over 42,000. People who work in downtown Indianapolis or other areas of south central Indiana find homes in Greenwood a perfect place to live. Downtown Greenwood consists of many homes and buildings built in the 1900s and are now used as commercial spots for great shopping and dining.
