Greenwood is located just 12 miles south of Indianapolis off of Interstate 65 and 15 miles from the Indianapolis International Airport. In 1872, the town was founded by Samuel Greenwood. The population today continues to steadily increase and was last recorded in 2005 at over 42,000.
