.Family Circle magazine, a national women’s magazine with 21 million readers, announced today the results of its exclusive survey to identify the best towns across the country for families. The communities featured in the magazine’s roundup of perfect places to call home combine affordable housing, good neighbors, green spaces and A+ public school systems. The results of the comprehensive survey appear in Family Circle’s August 2009 issue, on newsstands July 8th. Family Circle named the following as the 10 Best Towns: Rockwall , Texas ; Evans , Georgia ; Sherwood , Oregon ; Indian Trail , North Carolina ; Edina , Minnesota ; Noblesville , Indiana ; Perrysburg , Ohio ; Hendersonville , Tennessee ; Kenmore , Washington ; and Sun Prairie, Wisconsin . "We are truly honored to be among Family Circle’s 10 best towns in the United States for families," said Mayor John Ditslear. "We work hard to make this the best possible city for residents of all ages. To receive recognition like this on a national level affirms that we are continuing to surpass our goal of being a place where residents are able to enjoy an outstanding quality of life." Family Circle partnered with Onboard Informatics, a New York City research firm that provides real estate, demographic and other data, to assemble an initial list of 1,700 cities and towns with populations between 15,000 and 150,000. From that, nearly 800 localities were selected with a high concentration of households with an average income of $75,000. Family Circle then assessed which places best met their family-friendly criteria-including affordable homes, quality schools, access to health care, green space, low crime rate and financial stability-and ranked them from top to bottom. Family Circle then selected the ten winners from among the highest-rated towns. Greatschools.net, a nonprofit website with a mission to improve education by inspiring parents to get involved, provided Family Circle with the public school ratings used in the town rankings. The site profiles more than 90,000 public elementary, middle and high schools in 50 states. Noblesville has previously received the following honors: In 2006, named tenth best city in the United States in the book Best Places To Raise Your Family; in 2007, ranked by BusinessWeek.com as one of the country’s top 25 most affordable suburbs; in 2008, named the 2008 Indiana Community of the Year by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce; in 2008, named one of only 10 communities in Indiana to be designated a Preserve America community.
